I’m enrolled in the inaugural cohort of a new career coaching course: https://driyourcareer.com and it’s really good!
DRI stands for Directly Responsible Individual, and apparently it’s a concept from the corporate culture at Amazon. The idea is that there needs to be one person ultimately responsible for any given initiative, so you can dodge the common misunderstandings about who was supposed to do what.
In the course, Cate Huston and Jean Hsu are teaching how to be the directly responsible individual for your career, because nobody else is going to do that for you.
My biggest surprise from the course so far is that coaches don’t tell you what to do; they point you at what to reflect upon. I’m not quite halfway through it, but I already have focus and clarity for my next steps.
